Volunteers Taking Down The Fences

Thursday 7th May 2009
As part of 'the friends' obligations for the £24,975 Lottery funding Award, volunteers turned up to help remove and take away the old wooden fences that surrounded the play area. We also had the assistance of Malley and Tony from Wirral Councils Parks Department who thankfully brought a tractor along with them as the fence posts were proving difficult to get out.
The balance beams were also removed and on Monday 11th May Tony and Malley will return to remove the 2 sets of Swings.
The new goalposts were installed and during the next few weeks there will be artificial grasspads installed around both goal areas and the levelling of the pitch.
The pitch area has been resized to a Regulation Mini Soccer Pitch and is aimed at the under-tens footballers.
Tuesday 12th May is when the Private Contractors move on to the site to commence work on our new proposed Park play area and football kick about area.
