The 'Go Green' Penguin that was in Liverpool's Williamson Square is in pride of place in our our Play Area...
Our Mosaic Project involved over 100 local Children in 3 separate workshops. The Installation Work is Now Complete
Initially our first aim was to have a strong Membership made up of local residents. This enables us to apply for grants or funding that the Wirral Council can’t, and therefore can have a significant impact on the facilities available.
We hope that we will prove as successful as similar Friends Groups across the borough.Since the public meeting on the 6th October 2007, we have been succesful in securing some funding and raising money through holding fundraising events. There is however, much still to be done and the support of local people is essential to our cause.
The overall aim of the Friends of Meols Park group is to work closely with residents, and all park users the Local Authority, local business and other groups to secure funding in order that we can upgrade and add to the very old and poor equipment that exists in the park today, for the enjoyment of the children.
* Encourage responsible use of the park and organise events and activities
* Be the voice for the community in all park matters
* Raise funds to support parks activities
* Encourage the park as an environmental resource
